Boarding Questions

What are your boarding and day care requirements?

A profile must be created on Gingr with vaccine records uploaded. We require all dogs to have: DHPP, Rabies, Bordetella, and a Fecal exam that has been done within the year. The stool check exam must come back negative from any parasites or bacterial infections. Once we have verified all vaccines are up to date, we will schedule a 6 hour evaluation and two daycare visits. This is a temperament test to see how your dog does with staff, our facility and with other dogs.

What are your pick-up and drop-off times?

Drop off is 7 AM – 10 AM (8AM-10AM for half-day daycare) Monday through Friday and Saturdays from 8 AM – 10 AM. Pick up is anytime by 7 PM Monday through Friday (closed from 12 PM – 2PM) and Saturday by 5 PM. Sundays we are open for pick-up from 8AM – 11 AM & 4PM – 5PM. However, please remember that check out is by 10 AM to NOT incur a daycare charge. Half day is $28 and a full day is $40. Please let us know at time of check in when you have an idea of your pick up time.

What will my dog do all day?

At MLFP, we believe in giving your dog an “experience” and not just another day. Your dog will enjoy having play time with friends, climbing on the play equipment and learning structure and guidance from our trained Canine Enrichment Specialists. This ensures that all dogs play well in a pack and remain safe. We do this by initially assigning dogs to a play group based on size, temperament and how they interact with friends. We have indoor and outdoor areas that your dog will play in throughout the day. To ensure every pup gets a break, we offer nap time from 11 AM to 1 PM and from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Dogs will relax in the nap room with soothing music playing on the Sonos speakers.

Do you have a small dog area?

Yes, we do! Our Tiny Paws Inn has a covered outdoor area and a nice yard for the dogs to play. If it is too cold, the dogs play indoors in the Tiny Paws Inn play area.

Are the dogs supervised at all times during off-leash play?

Yes, we would never leave dogs unattended. Our trained staff does an excellent job at making sure everyone has a great time playing safe with friends.

What happens if I cannot drop-off or pick-up my dog during MLFP business hours?

We suggest you drop off a day early, or there is a $50 late fee after a 10 AM drop off. If you are unable to pick up your dog by 7 PM, we will extend your stay another night and you may pick up first thing in the am. We open at 7 AM Monday – Friday and 8AM Saturday and Sunday.

Do you provide treats for day care & boarding dogs?

We have many options for you: Frozen kongs made with all natural almond butter, organic plain yogurt, all natural raw honey and pumpkin. Bully sticks, greenies, small and large marrow bones, and we sell plenty of treats at the front.

What should I bring when my dog boards?

Please bring a leash and PLEASE make sure your dog enters our facility with a leash on. Please PRE-BAG all food based on serving size. This helps us with organization and to make sure your dog is fed the exact amount that you would feed at home. If your dog requires meds, please make sure they are in pill organizers based on dose for AM, PM, etc. We do not take medication, vitamins, or supplements mixed into their food.

Do I bring my own dog food?

Yes, and PLEASE PRE-BAG by serving size. If you forget food we can sell you some from our retail or you can purchase food per bowl.

When should I pay for the services?

During all BOARDING TIMES, we will require 100% deposit and it is nonrefundable 14 days or less from the beginning of the stay. This allows us to serve all hotel guests with a place to stay. Because boarding times are so busy here at MLFP, we now require prepayment for all boarding reservations. The prepayment amount is the total cost of the boarding reservation requested. CHRISTMAS/THANKSGIVING BOARDING PAYMENTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE SHOULD YOU CANCEL YOUR RESERVATION LESS THAN 30 DAYS IN ADVANCE. During boarding times we are unable to offer any refunds for early pickups. The dates of stay may not be modified before or during the stay and we need at least two weeks’ notice for changing dates, so that we can accommodate everyone.

Is there an additional fee for boarding dogs to participate in daycare?

No, there is not. The dogs that board with us get the same playtime experience as our daycare dogs. We pride ourselves in offering your dog(s) more playtime than the average dog boarding/daycare facilities out there.

Daycare Questions

What are the daycare hours?

Our hours of daycare are 7AM–7PM Monday through Friday, Saturdays 8AM-5PM, and Sundays 8AM-5PM. We also provide half-day daycare which is 6 hours from the time of drop-off. PLEASE NOTE – Your pet(s) must be dropped off from 7-10AM Monday – Friday or 8-10AM Saturday. We do not accept late drop ins for daycare. Also, if you drop your dog off for a half-day of daycare and do not pick up within the 6 hour time window you will be charged per pet for a full day of daycare. Half-day daycare dogs MUST be dropped off between 8-10AM.

What happens if I don’t make it to pick-up my dog from daycare by 7:00?

If you cannot for some reason pick your dog(s) up by 7 PM they will be boarded overnight, a boarding fee will be added on to your account, and will be due upon pick-up. If you pick your dog(s) up before 10 AM the next day no further charges other than the boarding fee will apply.

Does my dog get fed during his/her daycare visit?

Your dog(s) can be fed lunch if they are under 10 months old. We would simply ask that the meal is pre-bagged in the necessary amount and presented at the time of your dog(s) drop-off for daycare. Our normal lunch feeding time is generally at noon unless otherwise notified.

What if I have a special situation where I need late pick up and I know in advance?

We close at 7 PM so please let us know and we will extend your stay a night. For daycare, we can board your dog for the night and you can pick up in the AM.

What if my dog is not spayed or neutered?

Dogs 8 months or older that are not spayed or neutered do not play in group play with other dogs for safety reasons. Problems can arise if the hormones take over in any situation. It’s extremely unsafe for the dog and the people to have an unfixed dog in group play.

Do dogs ever get hurt?

We do our absolute best to ensure the safety and well-being of your pet, which is one of the reasons why we are so diligent in our temperament assessment evaluations. Even after a dog is accepted to daycare, we may ask a dog to leave if they have behavioral problems. However, we do our best to create calm, structured playgroups. It is possible for dogs to get minor scratches or scrapes during rough play, just like kids on a playground. Our staff is highly skilled in monitoring dog behavior.
